I posted a couple of months back about hybrid cars being a patch and that ultra efficient diesels were, I thought, a much better option. This weekend I saw this commercial:
The new Volkswagen Jetta TDI clean diesel. Per the commercial, it gets 58 miles to the gallon and drives and preforms like a normal gasoline car (which a hybrid does not) and runs on diesel (which is readily available). So, why were hybrids made in the first place and sold in America when they have had this type of car in Europe for a couple of years now? Even Ford sells this technology in Europe. It doesn’t make sense.
Read a pre-release review about the Jetta here.
