While in Wal-mart yesterday, I went by the electronics section and saw the “next big thing” Sony came out with called Slot Music. Its basically an sd card with an album on it and its partitioned into 2 sections so you can store files on it as well. Someone at sony didn’t think this through very well. Why would I buy an album on an sd card when I could buy the same thing from itunes or get a cd? 95% of the people can’t play it in their car without transferring it to a computer then an ipod or burning a cd from their computer. You can listen to them on your phone, but you have to have certain models that have standard sd slots. Again, I could do the same thing by just transferring the mp3 to my phone.
Seems like a step backwards don’t you think?

Yeah, seems like a waste. Most people our age don’t even buy a physical medium to hold music we just buy it online. That way WE decide what medium to put it on, burn a disk, memory card, ipod, other mp3 player. These SD cards seem like they’d only be convenient for a small segment of the population.
